It’s the end of the third quarter and now is the time to look for opportunity, obstacles and options.
Sometimes an obstacle IS an opportunity. For example, Bryce Harper played a few games for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, due to his rehab assignment and he played extremely well! He was 5 for 8 with two home runs in one game and had two doubles in the other. Not only was it an opportunity for him and for the team, due to a very lucky chance meeting, it was also an opportunity for me because I got to see him play, alongside a sold-out, screaming stadium of fans! He has since been called back up and I’m looking forward to attending the Phillies game this week to see him play as the DH and watch the team continue in the Wild Card race. Sometimes obstacles cause you to look for options. If you have to take time off or something unexpected comes up, make sure processes are in place to keep your business and finances running smoothly. As you prepare for 2023, review your options surrounding… -software -team -training -personal development -clients -vendors -growth -etc. If an obstacle is a client or a team member, think about the best ways to have an open and honest conversation with them to address the issues. It might be a billing dispute, a remote work challenge, even a differing in values that might cause the relationship to part ways. Either way, it’s an opportunity to learn and grow. If an opportunity seems out of reach but you really want it, find out what options you have to help you and support you. There are always actions you can take. Speaking of obstacles, don’t let taxes be one of them! They were due on September 15th. Including any extensions you filed as a partnership, S or C Corp. For individual extensions, you still have until October 15th to file your return. |
