The Existing Tools I Love + Virtual Relationships

Do you know that many of my clients I have never met in-person?

Do you know I have someone on my team that has been working with me for 6 years that I have never met in person? And that number will grow as I continue to hire a bigger remote workforce.

And of course, there are countless people I’ve only ever met virtually during networking and other events over the years.

To me, relationships can be solid no matter the circumstance.

Zoom, Teams, a regular phone call, emails, texts – however the communication occurs, the connection can still be very strong.

Have you seen The Pana yet? It’s a video conference camera that rotates 360 degrees, so you can see the entire room while on a virtual call. This makes hybrid meetings so much more effective. It highlights active meeting participants by their movement and sound, how cool is that?! We have been using it for our Rotary meetings and it’s been a real game changer. Better video, better sound, more interactive. Definitely something to check out!

While my business and team have always been virtual, I’ve helped clients navigate the shift and they have thrived!

Just recently, a former client of mine sent me flowers thanking me for growing with them. We have never met in person, yet I know they will be part of my ongoing network and I hope we find a way to work together in the future.

It’s also nice to be at the point where I can go to meet a client in-person if that is what is best. I was able to see the operations of a new client just this month and give them some immediate feedback and improvements.

But that can also happen right over the screen!

The other day, there were 60 people on one of my networking calls and we all went into different Zoom rooms to help someone with their business. There were people from all across the United States participating and even though we were only virtually together, the impact was huge. We all felt the energy, motivation and creativity at play.

Business relationships have changed. Work/life balance has changed. Remote/hybrid business life is here to stay. It’s time to embrace it, discover best practices and continue learning.

You have heard of The Great Resignation. But many people leaving their current positions are starting their own businesses or becoming entrepreneurs or going back to school, etc. I do think there will be a lot of growth out of this movement. This is truly a new chapter.

A few reminders…

Taxes should be filed for everyone at this time. If you have not yet filed, get an extension and remember, you still have to make payments if one is due.

I am still looking for staff accountants, so feel free to send your contacts my way. These are full-time, entry level positions, completely remote, with paid time off, holidays, health insurance and retirement benefits!
